Bolivian elections

Regarding the Bolivian elections and taking into account the history of U.S. interventions in Latin America, it would be almost impossible to believe that the U.S. will just let Evo be.

Heres some info regarding the U.S. and Latin America...

already now, reports are coming in that up to a million people were barred from voting in the Bolivian elections...Evo supporters needless to say...

Anti-US leftist clinches Bolivia election

LA PAZ, Bolivia (Reuters) - Evo Morales, a leftist former coca leaf farmer vowing to be a "nightmare for the U.S.," was poised to become Bolivia's first indigenous president on Sunday after likely clinching one of the biggest electoral victories in the country's history.

Morales appeared certain to take office in January when his rivals conceded defeat and results tabulated by local media showed him garnering slightly more than 50 percent of the vote, much higher than predicted.

EVO!!!! :-)

Peru, Ecuador, and Colombia, perhaps Paraguay too (we shall see what the U.S troops who were recently placed there are up to now that Evo won the vote...) still need a change of government! (not to mention the Central American countries...)

We shall also see how the U.S. will react to Evos victory.

Will they respect his victory and leave him alone, or will they try to discredit him and sabotage his government like they have been doing with Chavez in Venezuela, or will they invade as their troops are rather closeby. Time will tell.

Where they hide the cash

We help rich individuals and companies to spirit away vast sums from the developing world

Five trillion dollars has been corruptly removed from the world's poorest countries and lodged permanently in the world's richest countries. That is the "conservative estimate" not of a leftwing anti-globalisation activist but of a leading American businessman and enthusiast for capitalism who has just completed a major study of how multinational corporations, wealthy individuals and unscrupulous governments are using the world's banking systems in ways that spread poverty.

These same rich countries (G7) then still have the guts to say that the neoliberal model helps people out of poverty.

Hugo Chavez understands this as well, and he told the IMF to leave Venezuela alone, and that Venezuela would not participate in the Structural Adjustment Programs (SAP's) that have crippled countries instead of helping them.

The neoliberal model means death and poverty to the unfortunate, at the cost of the rich elite.

The biggest lie in capitalism/globalization is that everyone is better off and everyone can get rich.

There is one very important thing to remember: The ones who consume are not the ones who produce.

In order for us to be able to buy goods for cheaper price (also lower quality!), other people have to sell their souls the the neoliberal model, and work as underpayed servants to the neoliberal elite. This is one main reason for the outsourcing of jobs into third world countries:Cheap labor for more profit to the benefit of the rich.

Netanyahu: Pre-emptive Strike on Iran

“If by the end of March 2006, the international community does not manage to use diplomatic means to block Iran's effort to produce a nuclear bomb, there will no longer be any reason to continue diplomatic activity in this field, and it will be possible to say that the international attempts to thwart [Iran's efforts] have failed,” Ze'evi said.

What a coincidence. Iran will start trading its oil in Euros as of early 2006:

In 2005-2006, The Tehran government has a developed a plan to begin competing with New York's NYMEX and London's IPE with respect to international oil trades - using a euro-denominated international oil-trading mechanism. This means that without some form of US intervention, the euro is going to establish a firm foothold in the international oil trade. Given U.S. debt levels and the stated neoconservative project for U.S. global domination, Tehran's objective constitutes an obvious encroachment on U.S. dollar supremacy in the international oil market
